We're hiring an Area Manager of Construction Materials to manage large-scale operations, lead a diverse team, and drive strategic execution across multiple projects. Things You’ll Do
- Lead and oversee operations across multiple plants and facilities within the assigned geographic area to ensure safety, efficiency, and profitability.
- Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing employees while overseeing hiring, promotions, performance management, and corrective actions.
- Ensure all employees maintain required training, certifications, and compliance standards.
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to Plant Managers and Materials Sales Representatives to achieve operational and sales objectives.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to meet profitability targets.
- Directly accountable for the overall financial performance and results of the assigned area, including achieving revenue, profitability, expense management, and operational performance goals.
- Monitor and analyze operational, production, sales, and financial performance metrics, implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, contractors, and industry partners.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow market share and secure major contracts.
- Partner with Plant Managers to review cost controls, revenue performance, and operational efficiencies.
- Oversee account receivable activities, including collections efforts and coordination with credit management on delinquent accounts.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, environmental regulations, and applicable laws.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
- Lead special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in construction management or related field.
- Ten years of progressive experience in experience in construction environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills.
- Ability to review and analyze financial information.
- Strategic thinking skills.
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and department of transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook skills.
- Literate in Heavy Construction Systems Specialists (HCSS), Heavy Bid, and BCMI
