Under the direction of the equipment and facilities manager, the parts purchasing agent is responsible to order parts and supplies, coordinate schedule and stops for the parts runner and they are also required to know the duties of the parts clerk.
Things You’ll Do
- Visualize, fulfil, and implement the company vision and core values.
- Perform duties of a parts clerk, which includes operate forklift.
- Order parts and supplies for all maintenance divisions and equipment.
- Submit purchase orders to authorized personnel.
- Coordinate schedule and stops for parts runner.
- Order oils as needed.
- Check out parts to mechanics and drivers.
- Maintain insurable driving record.
- Ensure a safe and healthful work environment at all times.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Attention and commitment to safety
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Ability to move at least 50 pounds
- Skilled in bargaining and negotiating with vendors
- Knowledge of the internet and how to shop for parts online
- Intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
