Description:
The project engineer is responsible to lead a construction workforce to carry out the strategic direction of the company.
Job Responsibilites:
- Manage and review job estimates.
- Assist in developing and monitoring job schedules.
- Study and understand job specifications.
- Assist in projection, organization, and implementation of project budgets and work under contract.
- Work to resolve procedures, complaints and construction issues.
- Assist in project submittals and transmittals.
- Review, understand, and adhere to all union contracts.
- Maintain insurable driving record.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
- Other duties or projects, administrative or otherwise, as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills.
- Strategic thinking skills.
- Proficient in HCSS, Heavy Bid, Microsoft Office; superior in Excel.
- Knowledge of Viewpoint software, primavera scheduling software, micro-satisfaction and inroads design software.
- Ability to foresee and resolve project conflicts.
Education and Certificates:
- Bachelor of Science in civil engineering or construction management.
- Experience in management and road construction materials.
- Two years of progressive estimating and project management.
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary work, requiring lifting up to 15 lbs.
- Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment.
- Inside, climate-controlled working conditions, seated at a desk for extended periods of time.
